EPIC Partnership

EPIC is European Partners In Christ – linking churches in the UK with churches in Eastern Europe on a one-to-one basis. Partnerships have been established with churches in Poland, Croatia, Bosnia, Romania and the former Czech republic.

Whilst the freedom of the early 1990s has enabled Christian churches and fellowships in these former communist countries to come out from the shadows, there are still in some places restrictions on their activities.

There are hundreds of pastors and Christian leaders who are facing stress and illness caused by overwork and lack of resources. They seek encouragement and help in specific areas such as training programmes and church planting.

Getting Involved

The PCC's of our benefice have undertaken to become a Partner church. At present, we are working on our benefice profile. This will enable EPIC founder and co-ordinator Chris Fox to match us up with a similar congregation in one of these countries. We are committed to financial aid to our partner for three years (in the first instance) and to a regular exchange of news and occasional visits to each other. We will also pray daily for specific and general needs in on another's churches.

Update April 2004

We hope to be ‘partnered’ before the end of the summer period and we pray for a transforming partnership in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Benefice Profile has been submitted and we hope to know very soon of our Partner congregation in eastern Europe.  As well as exchanging news and information and praying for each other, we commit ourselves to fund development work with our partners in Christ by contributing Ł100 per month for the next three years. It is hoped that exchange visits will also be made in both directions.

Update March 2005

We have now formed a partnership with The Evangelical Christian Church in Opole, Poland. We hope to expand the web site as a means of communicating between our two churches.
