WELCOME to the St Mary's news page, where we'll be posting details of recent events, most recent first. Congratulations to everyone involved in St Mary's Sunday Club's production of the first in a specially commissioned set of banners made by children in the St Albans Diocese in honour of Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The banners were displayed at St Albans Abbey Cathedral as part of the St Albans Diamond Jubilee celebrations; after being presented to the Queen herself they will be returned to their home churches for display.

The pictures immediately below show the children, with some of their adult helpers, presenting the finished banner to the congregation at St Mary's before sending it off to the Abbey. Further down, some more photos from the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire's Jubilee Photo Set 2012 on flickr show the banner on parade at the Abbey.

THANK YOU to everyone who supported our Friends of St Mary's Barn Dance in February: to all those who came along and danced; to the band, Time of Your Life, who provided the music, stomped and clapped and called out the steps; to the caterers, for a meal of baked potatoes and delicious chicken casserole; and to those who organised the raffle, rearranged the furniture, cleared up afterwards or helped in any other way – a most enjoyable evening was had by all, as the photos below testify!
