WELCOME to the St Andrew's news page, where we'll be posting details of recent events, most recent first. If you have news or photographs of church or church-related events that ought to be included here, please contact our webmaster, Phil Groom, at the Vicarage or online via his blog, facebook or twitter.
We are very sad to have to report that Mary Jennings died peacefully in her sleep at St John's Hospice, Moggerhanger on Wednesday morning, 15th February 2012. As well as serving two terms as churchwarden at St Andrew's, Mary was a very practical Christian who was forever working acts of kindness for everyone she knew. Only last week she was doing things for other people and so her death seems to have come very suddenly. There will be a Celebration of Mary's Life at St Andrew's Church on Mon 5th March at 2.45pm. Please pray for her husband Peter and all who knew her.

COME RAIN OR SHINE, THE FETE GOES ON!
Saturday, 25 June, 2011
Heavy downpours did little to dampen people's spirits in Langford last weekend as the St Andrew's Fete continued regardless of the weather. The fete was opened at 2pm by our Priest-in-Charge, the Revd Sue Groom, as people gathered around the various stands in the churchyard eager to take part in the games and competitions which included Skittles, 'Guess the Weight of the Cake', 'Hook-a-Duck' and a Treasure Hunt, to name just a few, alongside a well-stocked Tombola and the Grand Prize Draw.
With delicious cakes, fair trade products and plants on sale as well, there was something for everyone outside, and when the rain came, there was even more to discover inside: in the church, a bookstall, an exhibition of old Langford photographs by the Langford History Society and a display of work by the Log Cabin Quilters; and in the church hall, refreshments were served throughout the afternoon and a small art gallery with work from local artists was on display.
The fete raised a total of £1,215.90 (updated Monday, 27 June, 2011). Congratulations and thanks to everyone who took part, donated prizes or otherwise supported the fete, with special thanks to the Social Committee and the rest of the team involved not only in planning the afternoon but clearing up afterwards.
