Church Open: In addition to our regular services (please see the Services & Events page for details), the church is usually open for visitors during the summer months from 2.00pm to 4.00pm on the second Sunday of each month. There is a children's area at the back of the north aisle which may be used by parents and children whenever the church is open.
Opening is subject to the availability of volunteers from the congregation: please contact us to check before travelling, especially if you are coming a long way.
Searchlights: Searchlights is a group of 4 to 9 year olds which meets on Friday afternoons during school term time, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm in either the church hall or the church. The Searchlights programme includes stories, activities and music which follow the themes of the Sunday Eucharist. Please visit our Searchlights page to download a copy of the current programme.
Friday Morning Coffee: Please join us in the Church Hall on any Friday morning, from 10.30am, for coffee and cakes. These are served alternately either by the St Andrew's Flower Guild or by adults with learning difficulties from Biggleswade Adult Training Centre. The coffee, cakes and service are all excellent: not to be missed!
Memorial Flowers: If you would like flowers placed in church for an anniversary, birthday or other occasion in memory of a loved one, please contact Mary Jennings or Katie Browne. £25 for a large pedestal; £15 for a smaller arrangement.
About St Andrew's
THIS LATE 14TH CENTURY CHURCH, dedicated to God in honour of St Andrew, stands at the heart of the old village of Langford. Medieval wall paintings were discovered on the north wall during preparations for internal redecoration in 2004; the consecration cross on the west wall (pictured) was restored in November 2005.
The inner doors at the main entrance, leading from the south porch into the south aisle, were a memorial gift from the late Mr Roger Hawken of High Street, in memory of his wife Eveline. They are made of English oak with glass panels etched with the cross of St Andrew and the St Albans Diocesan coat of arms; they were dedicated on 21 May 2006.

Mission Giving
Organ Fund: Our organ plays an important part in the life of the parish, but its inner workings are in a sorry state. We have begun to collect quotes for its repair and restoration: the estimate for a full restoration is around £30,000, towards which we now (as of March 2011) have £10,227.90 available. We need someone who has experience of fundraising to help us raise the difference: could that person be you or someone you know? To find out more about the organ, make a donation or offer assistance, please contact us. Thank you.

MARY JENNINGS RIP
Thursday, 16 February, 2012
We are very sad to have to report that Mary Jennings died peacefully in her sleep at St John's Hospice, Moggerhanger on Wednesday morning, 15th February 2012. As well as serving two terms as churchwarden at St Andrew's, Mary was a very practical Christian who was forever working acts of kindness for everyone she knew. Only last week she was doing things for other people and so her death seems to have come very suddenly. There will be a Celebration of Mary's Life at St Andrew's Church on Mon 5th March at 2.45pm. Please pray for her husband Peter and all who knew her.
